COMPRESSION CONNECTORS
Lugs, splice sleeves, clamps of aluminum, copper and brass for connections, in Low/ Medium/ High Voltage, monometallic aluminum or copper as well as bimetallics aluminum/copper.
The connection system of these connectors is by crimping the cable to the connector through a tool, mechanical press, hydraulic, electrical, which in some cases, basically the mechanical presses (manual), are prepared to fit the section of the conductors , while the hydraulic and electric presses use interchangeable dies depending on the section of the conductors to be crimped.
The compression force is given by the tool, so that when it reaches the end of the path it gives the necessary pressure. In some tools, such as the hydraulic or electric ones, when they reach the end of the path, they open automatically, and the connector can not be removed beforehand.
MECHANICALS CONNECTORS
Terminals, splice sleeves, clamps of aluminum, copper and brass for connections, in Low/ Medium/High Voltage, monometallic aluminum or copper as well as bimetallic aluminum/ copper. The connection is made by pressing 2 elements that are joined by screws and nuts or threaded in the body of the base, so that the base and the cover press on the stripped conductor in the pressure zone. In this case it is necessary to use a dynameter torque wrench in order to be able to give the required pressure to the connection in order to have the pulling force of the cable, as well as the necessary and required conductivity.
In electrical distribution systems, the most common are for connections of earthing copper or brass and aluminum for aerial connections.
